Zenthai Shiatsu session in Berlin with a queer massage therapist

What is Zenthai Shiatsu?

Zenthai Shiatsu is a holistic bodywork technique that weaves Zen Shiatsu accupressure, Thai massage movements, and osteopathic principles into a fluid, responsive practice. Sessions support the release of physical tension, mobility, fascial hydration, and regulation of the nervous system, amplifying the body's natural capacity for self-healing and vital flow.

Each session is guided by your unique needs. Assessment draws from Traditional Chinese Medicine and osteopathy; touch ranges from still, grounding holds to rhythmic, wave-like mobilizations.

Through movement, acupressure and connective tissue work, each session is tailored to meet what your body is asking for today.

1:1 Sessions

1:1 Zenthai Shiatsu sessions take place in Berlin and are open to everyone, with specific care and space held for queer, trans and non-binary clients. If you're looking for Queer Bodywork Berlin or Queer Massage Berlin, this space is for you.
You can find my studio in Berlin-Neukölln (Kranoldplatz). Home sessions are available upon request.

Performed fully clothed, on a comfortable floor-based futon

Mixture of still, attentive holds and smooth, dynamic sequences

Pressure and pace tailored to your body, moment to moment

I work with bodies as living, breathing organisms: fluid and ever-changing. My sessions are an invitation to be held, to feel, to breath and unwind. Through attentive, responsive touch, we restore coherence in the body's web of relationships (joints, muscles, fascia, breath, and nervous system), so you leave balanced, grounded, and recharged.

Each session is guided by your unique needs. Assessment draws from the Traditional Chinese 5 Elements Theory and osteopathy; touch ranges from still, grounding holds to rhythmic, wave-like mobilizations. There's no script or protocol. We let the body speak.

About my offers:

One-on-One Sessions (75-100 min) +

A session entirely tailored to what your body needs in the present moment. We begin with a spacious 5-10 minutes for you to settle in, check-in, and discuss your intentions and boundaries. This unhurried start ensures we create a safe, clear container for our work together. During the hands-on practice, I offer grounded touch, meridian work, and fluid movement, drawing from Zenthai Shiatsu and TCM principles. We follow what emerges, inviting your system to restore its natural balance and aliveness.

After the session, you'll have another 5-10 minutes to decompress, integrate, and enjoy a warm cup of tea. This gentle landing allows you to carry the benefits of the session smoothly back into your day.

Deepening Series: Packages - because our brain loves consistency! +

A 3- or 4-session program, because consistency signals to our body and brain it is safe. Regular sessions help to re-train our nervous system to feel supported, and this will directly affect your muscles and the rest of your body, too.

We start with a 2.5 hour session that allows for detailed intention setting and TCM-informed assessment (meridians, patterns, priorities). Three follow-ups deepen the work (120 min each, 1-2x weekly), supporting sustained change across physical, emotional, and mental layers.

3 sessions = €350
4 sessions = €450

Sliding scale pricing +

The sliding scale is an invitation to engage in a practice of mutual support and community care. It's designed to be a guide, allowing you to choose a rate that feels sustainable for you while also honoring the value of the work and my livelihood. To help you determine where you might fall on the scale, consider the following:

  • Higher End of the Scale: If you have stable income, or generally experience financial ease, choosing a higher rate helps to subsidize sessions for those with less access to resources.

  • Middle of the Scale: If you have a steady income, you can meet your basic needs and have some flexibility, but significant extra expenses would be a stretch.

  • Lower End of the Scale: If you are experiencing financial hardship, are unemployed or underemployed, have significant debt, are supporting dependents, or are facing systemic barriers to income, please choose a lower rate. This scale is here to support you.

Ultimately, this is an honor-system model. I trust you to assess your own financial reality and choose a rate that feels honest and sustainable for you. No proof of income is required.

Accessible sessions / Pay-What-You-Can +

Each month, I offer 2 sessions at a pay-what-you-can rate. Priority for queer and trans BIPOC.

  • If you have the means, please pay the standard rate or more; this helps sustain my practice and supports low-cost spots for others.

  • If you have limited resources, you're warmly welcome to pay what you can.

This is one way I try to practice the world I want to live in, where embodied care is not only for those with financial privilege. Read more about my values.

What to expect during a session & accessibility +

When you arrive for your session, ring the doorbell, and I'll greet you. You'll find our quiet ground-floor studio with large windows overlooking a garden. Please note there are a few steps at the entrance, and unfortunately, we don't have wheelchair access. If you have specific accessibility needs, please let me know when booking. The space can be fragrance- or incense-free upon request.

We'll begin by settling in, either seated or on the mat, with a brief grounding moment and a pronoun check-in. We'll discuss your intentions for the session and establish clear boundaries around touch, ensuring you feel comfortable and empowered to communicate your needs throughout.

The bodywork itself is performed on a futon on the floor, with you fully clothed (ideally in comfortable, loose-fitting long sleeves and pants; shorts and a t-shirt are fine in warmer weather). Drawing from TCM, acupressure, Shiatsu, and osteopathic techniques, my touch is varied and responsive to your body's needs. Sessions are mostly quiet, though I'll check in with you about pressure and comfort. We can adjust sensory elements like music, silence, blankets, weighted items, heat pads, or eye pillows to enhance your experience.

After the bodywork, you'll have time to rest on the mat, followed by a short check-in. I'll offer water or tea and discuss aftercare suggestions like gentle movement, journaling, or simply resting and hydrating.

Important notes +
  • Late arrivals will still incur the full session charge.

  • Cancellations require 24 hours' notice; otherwise, a €50 fee applies.

  • All touch is strictly non-sexual.

I look forward to welcoming you into this supportive space.

Zenthai Shiatsu Berlin

About me

I'm Toni (all pronouns), a Berlin-based gender non-conforming Zenthai Shiatsu Therapist and bodyworker.

My life has been a journey of exploring self, connection and belonging, drawing wisdom from both ancient traditions and lived experience. From my rural roots in the East of Germany, to years in Spain, and now Berlin, I've carried the threads of curiosity, resilience, and a search for authenticity.

As a queer person, I've known both deep loneliness and profound connection. Each chapter has given me lessons in adaptability, trust, and the importance of finding home within myself.

At this stage of my life, I feel deeply drawn to the stories our bodies carry and the quiet intelligence they hold. My practice is about creating a space where you are truly met: nurtured, held, and free to explore your own unfolding, transformation, and reconnection.

I trained with Natan Leijssen and Zenthai founder Gwyn Williams through the 8 month Zenthai Shiatsu Therapist program.

Fluent in German, English and Spanish, I happily meet you in the language that feels the most comfortable for you.

Ethos & Approach

I don't see the body as something broken that needs fixing. +

You're already whole, already carrying the wisdom you need. Your body understands its story far better than I ever could. I'm not here to diagnose or explain your pain. I'm here to accompany you as you explore, to witness what unfolds, and to support you in ways that feel safe and accessible. My role is simple: to listen, to hold space, and to offer support through touch and movement.

Our stories cannot be told apart from the historical and political landscapes that shape them. +

Knowing our privileges, and recognizing the pressures of human made systems like capitalism and patriarchy, reveals how deeply external structures impact our bodies, our health, and our sense of self. I hold a deep commitment to making this work accessible, especially for those of us whose bodies are most impacted by racism, capitalism, cis-heteropatriarchy, ableism, and other systems of oppression. Our stories cannot be told apart from the historical and political landscapes that shape them, and our access to care is no exception. Because of this, I reserve two sessions per month at a pay-what-you-can rate. Priority for these sessions is given to queer and trans BIPOC.

What "pay-what-you-can" means here:

  • If you have the means, I invite you to pay the standard rate, or more. This directly supports me in offering low- and no-cost care to others.

  • If you are stretched thin, please reach out. For these sessions, feel fully welcome to pay whatever you can. No questions asked. I have absolutely been there. I see you, and I want you here.

I'm trying to do things differently in a world that often makes care conditional on income. It matters to me that this space exists for our communities. If it feels right for you, I invite you to join me in the complexity of building more equitable access to embodied care.

I honor a slow view of healing. +

Healing is non-linear. It's a journey shaped by many things: sometimes flowing smoothly, sometimes circling back on itself. There will be ease, and there may also be setbacks. This doesn't mean you're failing. It's simply how life moves through us: shifting, cyclical, unpredictable.
Healing isn't something to "achieve" once and for all. It's an ongoing relationship with our body. My invitation is to meet that process with patience, curiosity, and compassion. And to remember that in all of its complexity, your journey is valid, and you are never alone in it.
Sometimes you may leave our session feeling lighter, freer, or more at ease. Other times the work is simply in staying with what is. Both are valuable, and both are part of the process.

Everyone's path is different. +
